This particular instrument was built in 1939/40, serial number 333,xxx, so it's a pre WWII Conn (the best in my opinion) and has a satin silver finish with gold plating inside the bell flare. The valves have been replated by Bob Atkinson and are sealing well. REDUCED $1400 with new inner slide tubes. The Super Olds were the pride of the line and have a signature design to them. I've even used it to pick up .50 BMG brass! This one I believe was made in the 1990s. The prototype was finished in May of 1961. White's 1937 catalog lists two double horns, both made in their Cleveland workshop. Great shape and a terrific sounding small bore with a big sound. The bell flare is nice and thin with an even response.

With modern Case, Sold Rare antique natural horn (no valves) by Beauboeuf brothers, made between 1849 and 1857. You'll notice a Strickler horn has a pronounced bell flare which gives the horn a tight and bright sound. Sheet music for bass and contrabass tubas is always written in bass clef, not transposed, except in european brass bands. "Tenor" tubas in Bb or C are more commonly called euphoniums, as explained above. Other types of brass are also used when different effects are desired.

It's a great player and hard to find a nice 5 valve model from this vintage in this kind of shape. $5000 sold without case For the trombone player not looking to impress anyone with their shiny trombone, but rather with the awesome sound that they create on it. The bell at the moment is recording bell (meaning it faces front). Brass instruments can also produce very intense sound pressure levels at the bell � a trumpet, for example, blowing a high note at a distance of 1.5' will blast about 130dB of SPL.
